Mike Check is not just his stage name, it’s his real name. Picking up the drum sticks at the early age of 7 would help him learn of life with rhythm. Clanging on the drums as a youngster, Check was drawn to the hip-hop sound that his heart now beats to. Remaining humble and plowing down the obstacles in front of him was a challenge that he took on without ever questioning.
In late 2010, Mike Check’s buzz intensified after winning season 2 of NYC’s most prominent showcase, ‘Hip Hop Unplugged.’ A panel of esteemed judges, including Lenny S, Rockwilder, and DJ Scratch, all agreed that Check has the talent to do everything he has planned. More show stopping performances were witnessed at the Sugar Bar, Don Hills, Times Square Arts Center, Velour Lounge, and other venues thoughout the tri-state area.
